Hybrid Brows and Brow Lamination: Correct Order and Ideal Client

Hybrid Brows and Brow Lamination: Correct Order and Ideal Client

Hybrid Brows and Brow Lamination are both popular treatments, and for good reason. Hybrid tinting provides long-lasting color and sharply defined eyebrows. Lamination creates that full, lifted effect that tames even the most stubborn hairs. But when combining both treatments, the question often arises: which comes first? And is this suitable for every client?

What's the Correct Order: Lamination or Tinting First?

Always perform Brow Lamination first, then Hybrid tinting. Why? Because lamination softens and opens the hair cuticle, allowing pigment to penetrate more effectively. The reverse doesn't work: if you apply Hybrid first and then use a high-pH solution (like lifting lotion), it can partially remove the pigment or distort the color.

Important: Are you working with Henna instead of Hybrid Dye? Then don't combine this treatment with lamination. The composition of henna brow tint is less suitable for use after a chemical process like brow lifting.

Who Is This Combination Suitable For?

Not every client benefits from a double treatment. Clients with abundant hair growth may only need tinting. However, for clients with coarse, downward-growing hairs or gaps in the eyebrow shape, brow lamination works as a "reset." By lifting and positioning the hairs, you create optical volume.

Then you bring the shape to life with Hybrid tint. You color both the hairs and a bit of skin, making the eyebrow appear fuller, even in areas with sparse hair. This combination makes a visible difference, especially for clients with asymmetry or uneven hair growth direction.

Importance of Aftercare and Proper Post-Treatment

After brow lamination, the hair is more sensitive. Therefore, use a mild Hybrid tint and don't leave it on too long. Coloring too dark can quickly make the result appear harsh, especially on lighter skin types. When in doubt, mix with a lighter shade or apply in two layers.

For clients, it's helpful to refresh the color at home with a matching eyebrow gel or powder. This keeps the shape crisp until the next appointment. Our collection of eyebrow powders and gels offers suitable products in multiple shades.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hybrid + Brow Lamination

What do you do first: Hybrid or lamination?

Always brow lamination first, then Hybrid. This way, the pigment adheres better and the color lasts longer. Doing it the other way around risks pigment fading.

Can I combine Henna with brow lamination?

No. Henna is too intense for use directly after a chemical treatment. When combining treatments, always choose Hybrid tint.

How long should I wait between both steps?

No waiting necessary. You can apply Hybrid tint immediately after neutralizing the brow lamination, provided you work with a gentle formula and apply proper aftercare.

Is this combination suitable for all skin types?

Exercise caution with sensitive or very dry skin. Use mild products and test beforehand if uncertain. This combination is especially suitable for normal to oily skin types with coarser eyebrow hairs.

How long does the result last?

Lamination remains visible for 4 to 6 weeks. Hybrid tinting lasts an average of 10 to 14 days on the skin and up to 6 weeks in the hairs, depending on skin type and aftercare.
