White Stick: eyebrow primer and brow mapping pencil in one

The Marie-José White Stick is a white wax pencil for brows with two jobs: a primer under brow powder and a mapping pencil for henna brows and Hybrid Brows. Its light, slightly tacky texture helps powder grip waterproof and protects the skin around the brow from tint stains.

In a brow treatment you often switch between products: one to outline the shape, one to protect the skin and one to make powder grip. The White Stick combines all three in one pencil. You will find it in our brow mapping collection and with our eyebrow makeup.

As a primer under brow powder

Apply the White Stick to the hairs and skin where the powder will go and you create a base that grips. The pigment adheres better, the colour looks fuller and the powder stays put better in heat or humidity. It also works on sparse brows, where most of the powder goes onto the skin. On brows that are starting to grey, the pencil adds coverage to white or grey hairs, giving you an even base for the powder.

As a mapping pencil and coverstick

Use the White Stick to mark the start, arch and tail of the brow, or to draw the full shape. Because the pencil is white, the line stands out clearly on the skin. The wax shields the skin around the shape from staining by henna eyebrow tint and hybrid eyebrow tint. When you remove the tint, the wax comes away with it and leaves a crisp, symmetrical line with no clean-up needed. Learn how to map the shape step by step in our brow mapping articles.

What the White Stick brings to your salon

One pencil to outline, protect and prime means fewer products on your station and a faster treatment. Working with stencils, such as those in the Duo Brow Powder Kit? Apply the White Stick first, then place the powder inside the stencil.

The pencil also helps in the consultation. Draw the proposed shape and let your client check it in the mirror before any colour touches the skin. If the shape is not right yet, simply adjust the line. A thin layer is enough, so one pencil lasts a long time and your product cost per treatment stays low.

How to use the White Stick

  • As a primer: brush the brows with a spooly, apply a thin layer of White Stick to the hairs and skin where the powder will go, then apply the brow powder.
  • As a mapping pencil: draw the desired shape and apply the pencil to the skin around the brow that must stay free of colour. Then apply the henna or hybrid eyebrow tint.
  • Tip: twist up only a small piece of the pencil. That keeps the tip firm so it does not break.

Pair the White Stick with an angled brow brush with spooly to brush and blend. For more on working with henna and hybrid tint, visit the Henna Brows Academy and the Hybrid Brows Academy.

Frequently asked questions about the Marie-José White Stick

What is the White Stick used for?

As a primer under brow powder and as a mapping pencil to outline the brow shape and protect the skin during henna brows and Hybrid Brows.

Does the White Stick make brow powder waterproof?

The pencil creates a tacky base that helps the powder stay put and grip waterproof. Set the shape afterwards with clear brow gel for the best all-day hold.

Does the White Stick protect the skin during henna and hybrid tinting?

Yes. The wax forms a barrier against tint stains on the skin around the brow and comes away when you remove the tint.

Can you use the White Stick on grey hairs?

Yes. The pencil adds coverage to white or grey hairs, giving you an even base for the powder.

Can I use the White Stick at home?

Yes. At home it works best as a primer under brow powder, for example together with the stencils from the Duo Brow Powder Kit.

Which products go well with the White Stick?

The Duo Brow Powder Kit, the Hybrid Eyebrow Tint Set, henna eyebrow tint and clear brow gel.

Does the White Stick contain animal-derived ingredients?
