The Marie-José henna eyebrow tint kit is a complete kit for doing henna brows at home: two sachets of henna powder with a brow brush, mixing dish, pipette and wax pencil, for brow hairs tinted for up to 6 weeks and a skin stain that lasts up to 1 week.

Filling in thin or light brows every morning takes time. Henna tints the hairs and the skin underneath in one go, so your brows look fuller for weeks. This kit contains everything you need to get started, with the same henna brow professionals use in the salon.

Which shade should you choose?

The kit is available in three shades:

Light brown — for a soft, natural result on blonde to light brown hair.
Medium brown — not sure? Choose this shade. You can make the result lighter or darker with the processing time.
Dark brown — for full, defined brows on dark hair.

The longer you leave the henna on, the darker the result. So start short and build up.

How to use the kit

Do a patch test 48 hours beforehand, even if you have used henna before (see below).
Cleanse and degrease your brows with an oil-free make-up remover.
Map the shape with the wax pencil. The wax also protects the skin around your brows.
Mix the paste: put a little powder in the dish and use the pipette to add a few drops of water until you have a thick, smooth paste. Leave it for 3 to 5 minutes. Do not use a metal dish.
Apply the henna with the brush, within the shape you mapped.
Leave it on: no longer than 10 minutes the first time. After that you can build up to a maximum of 20 to 30 minutes.
Remove the henna first with a dry cotton pad, then with a damp one.

Tip for a great result: if the paste is too thin, the colour can disappoint or turn greenish or yellowish. So add the water drop by drop. Close an opened sachet tightly (with tape, for example), store it in a dry, dark place and use it within two weeks.

Important for your safety

This henna contains PPD (p-phenylenediamine). Hair dyes can cause severe allergic reactions.

Always do a patch test 48 hours before every treatment on the inside of your arm. Redness, itching or irritation? Then do not use the henna. Read how to do a patch test.
Do not use if you are allergic to PPD or resorcinol, or if you have ever reacted to a hair dye or a temporary "black henna" tattoo.
Not suitable for anyone under 16.
If you get itching, redness or swelling during or after the treatment, remove the henna immediately and rinse with water. In case of swelling of the face or lips or difficulty breathing: call 112 (or your local emergency number) immediately. If in doubt, contact your GP. Avoid contact with the eyes. Rinse immediately with water if henna gets into your eye.

How many times can I tint my brows with this kit?

With two sachets you can do up to around 10 treatments, depending on how much paste you mix each time.

How long does henna last on your brows?

Brow hairs stay tinted for up to 6 weeks, the stain on the skin for up to 1 week. Oily skin or oil-rich skincare can make the skin stain fade faster.

Is a patch test really necessary?

Yes. Do a patch test 48 hours before every treatment, even if you have used the henna before without any problems.

My brows turned out too dark. What now?

The colour naturally softens a little in the first few days, especially on the skin. Use a shorter processing time next time.

How do I use Henna Eyebrow Dye?

Perform a sensitivity/allergy (patch) test

It is possible some people may have skin irritations and therefore it is important to conduct a patch test 48 hours before applying the henna.
Remove jewelry
Mix a small amount of the henna powder with water in a non-metallic bowl.
Apply the paste with a cotton bud to a clean and dry area of skin on the inside of the arm. Re-apply 2 or 3 times. Let the area dry naturally between each application.
Do not wash, cover or touch the area for 48 hours.
If redness, itching or any other irritation occurs, wash the area immediately with mild soap and water and do NOT use this product.

Application

Take a little henna powder and put it into a small plastic or glass dish. The content of one sachet is enough for at least 3 to 5 applications when used economically. Do NOT use a metal dish! Mix the powder with a few drops of water to achieve a thick paste. We advise using a pipette when adding the water. Wait 3-5 minutes until the water is completely dissolved.
Thoroughly cleanse the eyebrows with an oil free make-up remover, even if not wearing any make-up.
Frame the eyebrows with our wax pencil or vaseline to create a shape and protect the skin around the eyebrows.
Apply the henna paste with an angled brow brush on the eyebrows.
Henna tint can be quite intense.As a rule of thumb, the longer the exposure time, the darker the result. Especially when using this Henna tint for the first time, do not leave it on the eyebrows for longer than 10 minutes. We advise leaving the henna paste for maximum 20-30 minutes on the eyebrows before removing it.
To remove the henna paste from the eyebrows, first wipe the eyebrows with a dry cotton pad. Then wipe the brows again, this time with a wet cotton pad to remove any residue. If necessary remove any henna paste from the skin with our tint remover.
Store unused open sachets in a dry, dark place. Close the sachet with f.e tape.
As the powder can dust, use gloves and cover your clothes and working area to prevent stains.
Avoid contact with eyes. Rinse immediately if the product comes into contact with them.
